Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe
Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your accommodation. Settle in at the Hotel, both offering comfort and convenience. Take this time to unwind after your flight, explore the beautiful gardens, or take a walk by the lakefront to enjoy the cool evening breeze of Lake Victoria.
Day 2 – Explore Jinja – City Tour & Optional Activities
Today, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital, located at the source of the mighty Nile River. Explore the town with a guided city tour, visiting the vibrant local markets, colonial-era buildings, and cultural spots. For thrill-seekers, optional activities like white-water rafting or bungee jumping are available. After a full day, relax at 2 Friends Jinja, a cozy lodge with an excellent view of the Nile.
Day 3 – Visit the Source of the Nile & WORI
Start the day with a visit to the Source of the Nile, where you’ll witness the calm waters turning into the world’s longest river. This historical site is a must-see for anyone visiting Uganda. Later, head to WORI organization to experience a traditional cultural interaction with women to get an insight of how women empowerment, livelihood sustainability and how travel helps in the fight against domestic Violence. Return to 2 Friends Jinja for a delightful evening by the riverside.
Day 4 – Jinja to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
This morning, you’ll depart Jinja for the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a crucial conservation site for Uganda’s rhinos. Upon arrival, a professional guide will take you on a thrilling trek to track these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. Afterward, enjoy the serene surroundings of the sanctuary at Ziwa Rhino Lodges, where you can relax and reflect on this unique experience.
Day 5 -Ziwa to Murchison Falls National Park
Travel through Uganda’s scenic landscapes en route to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to Pakuba Safari Lodge, where sweeping views of the Nile await. In the evening, take a short visit to the top of the falls, where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge 8 meters wide to create one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world. The sound and sight are simply unforgettable.
Day 6 – Safari Morning & Nile Boat Cruise
Kick off your day with an early morning game drive in the vast savanna of Murchison Falls National Park. Spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, and giraffes in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, take a tranquil boat cruise along the Nile River, getting close to hippos, crocodiles, and birds as you approach the base of Murchison Falls. Return to Pakuba Safari Lodge for a relaxed evening, sharing tales of the day’s adventures.
Day 7-Murchison Falls to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today, you’ll travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a biosphere reserve with incredible biodiversity. En route, take in Uganda’s changing landscapes, from savanna to wetlands. Once at Bush Lodge, you can unwind as you enjoy the sights and sounds of the Kazinga Channel, where wildlife roams freely around the camp. The fresh air and peaceful setting provide the perfect atmosphere to relax.
Day 8-Safari , Kazinga Channel Boat Ride & Chimpanzee Trekking
Begin the day with a thrilling 3 hour morning safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll encounter elephants, leopards, and Uganda kob, along with other wildlife. After the safari you will head to embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of the most wildlife-rich water bodies in East Africa. Watch hippos, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species up close. Return to Bush Lodge for a hot Lunch and the head to Kyambura Gorge one of the most beautiful geographical feature that this park presents to trek Chimpanzees. After the trekking you will have cozy evening under the stars.
Day 9 – Bwindi Impenetrable National park
After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector; branch into the park for a game drive looking for tree climbing lions. You will also enjoy the spectacle of the Topi, Kobs, and Buffalos as they dot the acacia grasslands in the park. The experience is fantastic, arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon.
Day 10 – Gorilla tracking & Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast we shall proceed to the park headquarters for briefing. You will need to be there by 8:00am and have the following items: Walking Sticks, Jungle boots, Rain gears, 2 liters of water, back pack packed lunch. Porter services may be arranged should you require / need one. You will push your way slowly through the dense impenetrable forest criss-crossing animal trails, up to the Gorillas. Sitting with the Gorillas as they grumble and murmur while feeding, playing will be your life long memorable experience. This is one of the most wonderful experiences you can ever do, a fantastic opportunity and treat of a life time to see these amazing gentle giants. After this encounter you will continue through the winding and hilly country; This part of the country is famously known as ‘Switzerland of Africa’ where the hill sides have been terraced. Your destination is Lake Bunyonyi. A place full of beauty.
Day 11 – Boat tour of Islands – Drive to Mburo
After a cup of coffee, proceed with your guide will lead you to an island tour. A boat / canoe ride on the illustrations and scenic lava dammed Lake Bunyonyi. The area offers perfect opportunity for photography and birding. After lunch proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. After checking in,proceed for an evening drive.
Day 12 – Lake Mburo National Park
Have early and proceed to take early guided nature walk where you will see wildlife leaking salt from a platter. After there proceed for a game drive, have plentiful spectacles of the impalas, Zebras, Bush bucks, water bucks and a boat ride on the Lake Mburo. You will see a wide range of birds including the African Fish Eagle, African fin foot and Papyrus bush shrike.
Begin the day with a guided walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park, offering a chance to see zebras, impalas, and other wildlife up close. This intimate experience allows you to truly connect with nature. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive, exploring the park’s rolling hills and acacia woodlands. Retire to your lodge where you can relax in the heart of nature.
Day 14- Drive to Entebbe -International Flight
Today, you’ll begin your journey back to Entebbe. Along the way, stop at local craft markets for souvenirs Upon arrival in Entebbe, check in at Lodge briefly for your final hours or go direct to the airport, reminiscing about the incredible experiences you’ve had.
